The Nokia 6 (2018) was released last month in India for Rs 16,999, but that variant featured just 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. HMD Global back then confirmed the arrival of 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option at a later date. Finally, the premium variant is launching in India on May 13 as listed on e-commerce portal Amazon India. However, the Amazon landing page did not reveal the price of the new variant, but it's expected to cost Rs 18,999 in the country. The new storage variant also listed to come with a slew of launch offers such as cashback from Airtel of Rs 2,000, free Airtel TV subscription until December 2018, No Cost EMI up to 12 months, free 12 months damage insurance by Servify and 25% discount on domestic hotels.
The Nokia 6 (2018), which is also known as Nokia 6.1 is a mid-range smartphone from HMD Global. It features excellent design & build quality, which is its standout feature. The device is constructed of Series 6000 aluminium, which makes the smartphone feel solid. To the front, there's a 5.5-inch Full HD display with the usual 16:9 aspect ratio.
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform and the new variant comes with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of onboard storage. There's a microSD card slot as well for storage expansion up to 128GB. The device is already on Android 8.1 Oreo with April 2018 security patches installed, but the company will provide May 2018 security update very soon.
Optics wise, it has a 16MP PDAF rear camera with ZEISS optics, and up front, there's an 8MP shooter for video calls and selfies. The camera app also offers the popular Bothie mode. The device is backed by a 3000mAh battery, and the fingerprint scanner is placed to the back of the phone.
It's unknown whether the new 4GB RAM variant of the Nokia 6 (2018) will be available for purchase across offline stores like the 3GB RAM variant.
