HMD Global is setting the stage to unveil its first flagship phone, the Nokia 8, at an event in London on August 16. Along with the upcoming Nokia 8, the company is most likely going to launch the 3G variant of the Nokia 3310 smartphone at the said event.
Most of the information about the Nokia 8 in regards to its specs have already been leaked online in the past few weeks, so there’s little else to learn aside from the availability and pricing. As we previously reported, the much anticipated Nokia 8 is expected to boast a 13MP dual camera setup from Carl-Zeiss Optics and feature a 5.3-inch Quad-HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display.
One thing that was kept under wraps until now was the smartphone’s selfie camera, which was previously expected to be an 8MP sensor. However, a new leak suggests that the device will come with a 13MP camera on the front as well. This sure is good news for all the selfie-enthusiasts out there.
Coming back to the dual rear camera setup, the phone packs a combination of dual 13MP sensors – one RGB lens while the other is a monochromatic lens. The rest of the Nokia 8 specs include a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The handset will run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, however, we can expect the phone to get the Android O update as soon as it is released.
Rumour has it that the Nokia 8 will be placed on the pricing table at 520 Euros (approximately Rs. 38,930) and will cost even less in India. The handset is expected to be available in Steel, Gold/Copper, Blue, and Gold/Blue colour options. Having said that, we suggest you take it with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed yet until the official launch of the device.
