VoLTE Adoption
According to MTS, more than 39 percent of iPhones connected to its network use VoLTE. Now, the HD calling technology is available on the MTS network for iOS devices, starting with iPhone 6 models and later, the company said in a release. With VoLTE, users can make voice calls and use data services simultaneously without any degradation in call quality or data speed.
VoLTE Technology
Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) is a technology standard that enables voice calls over a 4G LTE network. VoLTE uses IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) technology to deliver voice calls over LTE networks. It essentially converts voice into data packets and transmits them over the LTE network, allowing for high-quality voice calls with faster call setup times and improved voice clarity compared to traditional circuit-switched voice calls.
