Motorola is expected to launch the Moto Z3 Play smartphone sometime at the end of May 2018 because the Moto Z2 Play arrived during the same time. Ahead of the launch, real-life images of the Moto Z3 Play leaked online, giving a glimpse at how the smartphone will look like. Three images of the Moto Z3 Play has been posted online, which revealed the device from the front and rear. Also, an image shows the About Phone section of the smartphone. The Z3 Play will have a model number of XT1929, which is in-line with other Motorola smartphones. The device will boot Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Project Treble support. Also, Motorola is testing the phone with May security patches, which is another hint at the imminent launch.

The Moto Z3 Play, as you can see in the image will feature a glass back, same as the Moto G6 Plus. The device will offer dual rear cameras, and the camera module is similar to last year Motorola phones. To the bottom rear, we have the magnetic pins which can be used to connect the Moto Mods. It's unknown whether the currently available Moto Mods will support the phone or not.

The front of the phone will be dominated by an 18:9 display, possibly a 6.1-inch one. Below the display, there's Motorola branding, and to the top, we have sensors, earpiece and front-facing camera. These images did not reveal the fingerprint scanner placement, which is located on the right side of the phone. This could be the first Moto smartphone with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and it's said to be followed by the Moto Z3 or Moto Z3 Force. The Moto X5 also said to arrive with a side-facing fingerprint scanner, but the device was allegedly cancelled.

At the moment, it's unclear when Motorola is going to launch this smartphone in India. The company is even silent on the Moto G6 devices launch in India, so it might take a while for Motorola to bring the Z3 Play to the Indian market.

As rumours point out, the Moto Z3 Play will come with a 6.1-inch display and will be powered by the Snapdragon 636 SoC, paired with up to 4GB of RAM. The device is expected to rock a primary 12MP sensor at the back which works in tandem with a 5MP secondary camera. It will be interesting to see how Motorola prices the device in India considering we have the Snapdragon 636-powered Redmi Note 5 Pro around Rs 15,000 in the country.
