Loop Mobile has started informing its subscribers through a text message that they will be shifted to Bharti Airtel. Here's the screenshot of the SMS being sent to Loop Mobile Subscribers.

The development is rather surprising considering that the Loop Mobile - Airtel merger is facing issues from the government. Bharti Airtel and Loop Mobile had signed a definitive agreement in June 2014, where Airtel would acquire Loop Mobile’s subscribers and assets for a rumoured Rs 700 crore price tag. However, the government fears that with the acquisition it will lose a chunk of easy money from number portability. DoT is also of the opinion that subscribers should be given a choice of network to port out rather than forcing them to switch to Airtel's network.

Many Loop Mobile subscribers have complained / commented in our previous article about the issues they are facing. Loop Subscribers, who have tried to port out to a different network are not receiving UPC code, while others who have balance in their account are not able to take advantage of the service where one can transfer their balance to their friends. Services like Dus ka Gang have already been deactivated.

It's unclear whether Loop Mobile subscribers will be able to keep their current balance once the forced out to Airtel takes place, nor is it clear whether they will be able to take advantage of the same services they had with Loop Mobile.
