LG is all set to officially announce its upcoming flagship smartphone, the LG G4, on April 28, but all the details about the device have been leaked prematurely. Images, hardware specifications, and software features of the LG G4 have been leaked through the company's under-construction microsite.

It comes with a 5.5-inch QHD Quantum LCD display, which as LG claims, is bright (even in bright sunlight), shows authentic colours, and is energy-efficient. It has powerful guts, thanks to Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 with a hexa-core CPU (dual-core Cortex A57 + quad-core Cortex-A53) with Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB RAM. There's 32GB of internal storage space, and unlike the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge, the LG G4 comes with a microSD card slot for storage expansion, and a 3,000 mAh removable battery. This should entice a lot of users, even some Samsung fans who liked these features.

There's a 16-megapixel primary camera, which LG showcased last week, with phase-detection and laser autofocus. It comes with an optically stabilised lens with F1.8 aperture, and a dual-tone dual-LED flash as well as a colour spectrum sensor. LG G3 came with a very basic 2-megapixel front-facing camera, missing out on the selfie trend, but the LG G4 comes with an 8-megapixel camera on the front. F1.8 aperture, which is lower than F1.9 in the Galaxy S6, allows more light to enter the sensor, and creates attractive bokeh effect.  The colour spectrum sensor is actually an IR sensor which analyses and measures colours in the frame for them to be accurate in the final image. There's a Manual Mode in the camera which lets you change things like ISO, shutter speed, EV, flash, white balance, shooting modes, brightness and image file format (JPEG + RAW) settings.

The device comes in plenty of colours and materials including six hand-crafted leather trims and three textural  hammered-array patterns. The LG G4 is to compete with the HTC One M9, the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, the Sony Xperia Z4, the OnePlus Two, the Xiaomi Mi Note, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Compared to these devices, the Adreno 418 GPU on the LG G4 seems a bit underpowered, but we'll see how it performs when it releases later this month.

The only thing that is left us to imagine is its price and availability details. Do you like what you see? LG G3 fans, do you think that it could fight with its competitors? Is this is a true successor to the LG G3? Let us know in the comments below.
