Lenovo has been a force to reckon with in the smartphone arena globally and has constantly been launching devices in India as well to get a share of the Indian smartphone market. In a bid to do so, it has just launched the S580 in the country at a price of Rs 8,999 exclusively through Snapdeal. The device comes with a 5-inch HD display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor as its key features. It is meant to help the company get a foothold in the budget phablet segment. Let us take a look at its specifications:

Lenovo S580
Lenovo S580
  • 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor
  • Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is what it runs on and Lenovo has promised an Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for it as well
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded by another 32GB with the help of a microSD card
  • 8-megapixel camera at the rear with a LED flash and a 2-megapixel front camera
  • 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Dual SIM and GPS
  • 2,150 mAh battery which has a standby time of up to 13.5 days and talk time of up to 19 hours
  • Rs 8,999

It has a laser-etched fabric feel built and it feels pretty premium to hold. It comes with a bundled flip cover which also doubles up as a stand for vertical as well as horizontal hands-free viewing. It is a decent device but the Snapdragon 200 as a chipset is pretty old now and is no match for the Xiaomi Redmi Note which is also priced at Rs 8,999.
