Jio preview offer now extends to Micromax and YU smartphones with free service for 90 days

In yet another move to make services more pervasive, Reliance Jio and Micromax have formed a partnership. With this collaboration, Micromax consumers and YU customers will be able to access an exclusive preview of the Reliance Jio 4G service for free for 90 days. As a pre-requisite for the offer, select Micromax, and all the YU smartphones will get a Reliance Jio 4G SIM with a complementary access to unlimited HD Voice, Video calling, unlimited SMS, unlimited High-Speed Data services, and access to Jio Apps.

The Micromax devices that are compatible with the Jio offer are - Canvas Tab P701, Bolt Selfie, Canvas Unite 4 Pro, Canvas 5 Lite Special Edition, Canvas Mega 2, Canvas 5, and Canvas Knight 2. We received a press release from Micromax and YU. It detailed the steps (given below) to avail Jio offer for both the Micromax brands.

Availing the Jio offer on Micromax and YU smartphones:

  • The Jio Preview Offer can be availed by Micromax and YU consumers on the purchase of select models by downloading the MyJio application available on Google Play. Following this, the customers will find a 'Generate coupon' option. On clicking the option, a bar-coded coupon will be generated.
  • The barcode generated is non-transferrable and is for a limited validity period. Consumers are then required to submit any one proof of identity and proof of address for verification at the nearest Reliance Digital and Reliance Dx Mini stores or select modern trade outlets.
  • Upon successful submission and authentication of all documents, a Jio SIM card will be handed over to the consumer.
  • Consumers can then activate the 'Preview Offer' from the MyJio app, and access all the services including JioPlay, JioOnDemand, JioBeats & JioMoney.

With this partnership with Jio, we further aim to help the Indian consumers unlock the true potential of 4G in India. Going forward, we expect a significant part of our smartphone sales to come from the 4G smartphones which will further strengthen our leadership in the integrated smart devices category in India.”

Talking about YU's partnership with Jio, Shubhodip Pal, COO, YU Televentures said,“As a new age brand, we have been future ready and have introduced all phones that are 4G compatible. With this preview offer our consumers will be able to enjoy the 4G benefits like never before.”

Reliance Jio has been expanding its reach by partnering with smartphone makers such as LG, Samsung, Panasonic, and HP. The operator is expected to strike a deal with other manufacturers as well. Stay tuned with us to know more about Jio's expansion plans.
