AIonOS, a joint venture of InterGlobe and Assago Group, and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH), Indonesia’s telecom provider, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to transform Indonesia’s AI ecosystem. In a collaboration under the Government-to-Government (G2G) initiative, this partnership marks the first large-scale AI collaboration between the India and Indonesia, aiming to leverage AI for Advancing Indonesia’s Food Security, Talent Development, and Tourism, the companies said in a joint statement on January 27, 2025.

AI Cube
The initiative, called AI Cube (AI for Indonesia and India), leverages Indosat’s local expertise and AIonOS’s AI technologies to create transformative solutions in key sectors, including tourism, knowledge economy, and sustainable agriculture. According to the official release, the partnership is aligned with Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045 and seeks to strengthen its global competitiveness through technological advancements.
Key Focus Areas of AI Cube
1. Boosting the Travel Economy:
Enhancing Indonesia’s tourism sector by promoting local experiences, improving connectivity, and integrating its cultural heritage with global travel networks to increase GDP contribution.
2. Developing a Knowledge Economy:
Collaborating with educational institutions in India and Indonesia to create an AI-ready workforce and position Indonesia as a leader in the global knowledge economy.
3. Ensuring Sustainable Food Security:
“The partnership will leverage advanced AI and technology solutions to increase agricultural productivity and resilience, particularly in the face of challenging climate conditions, thereby enhancing food security and empowering local farmers,” the official release said.
