Idea Cellular has now made an announcement that it has completed the roll out of VoLTE (Voice over LTE) service across all its 4G circles and also became the first GSM operator in the country to offer VoLTE service across 20 telecom circles. Idea Cellular has now launched VoLTE services in Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, North East Service Area (NESA) and Jammu & Kashmir, expanding VoLTE presence across all its 20 4G circles. Earlier, Idea Cellular launched VoLTE services in Maharashtra ( Including Mumbai), Goa, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Tamilnadu, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar. Having said that, Idea 4G and VoLTE service are currently not available in Delhi and Kolkata metro cities.
According to Mr Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular said, “With the completion of the last phase of VoLTE roll out, Idea is now the only operator to offer pan India integrated 2G, 3G, 4G** and VoLTE services. Through our collaboration with ten leading device brands, which cover 75% of the smartphone market, we will cater to our growing base of VoLTE users across the country.”
Furthermore, Idea Cellular also confirmed that Idea VoLTE has been rolled out to various smartphones from top brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, OnePlus, Nokia, Asus, Kult, Panasonic and Honor/Huawei. The telco also stated that the future models of these brands would come with Idea VoLTE patch embedded.
As you might be aware of, Idea Cellular is giving 30GB of free 4G data to its VoLTE users, and the offer will be now available across all the 20 circles where Idea launched its VoLTE services. Idea users making the first VoLTE call will get 10GB data, additional 10GB on giving feedback on the service after four weeks, and another 10GB on providing feedback after eight weeks.
Recently, Idea VoLTE support has been rolled out to Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 smartphone, and several other smartphones already have support for Idea VoLTE. In the case of Zenfone Max Pro M1, the Idea 4G SIM card can be installed in any SIM slot because it has dual 4G support, however, in other smartphones, the Idea 4G SIM card should be placed in the first SIM slot which has 4G support.
