Kult Impulse With 4000mAh Battery and Idea VoLTE Support Launched at Rs 8,999

Kult, an Amazon-exclusive brand today announced its first smartphone in 2018, dubbed, the Kult Impulse. In the press statement, Kult confirmed that the device comes with Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular VoLTE out of the box. The device goes against the Xiaomi Redmi 5 smartphone in India, but it features a MediaTek processor under the hood. The device will be available for purchase from May 15 for Rs 8,999. For those who're interested, there's a Rs 2,200 cashback offer from Reliance Jio. The phone also offers a 4000mAh battery.

Kult Impulse Specifications and Features
Diving into the specifications of the smartphone, the Kult Impulse sports a 5.99-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels, layered with 2.5D curved glass on top. At the heart of the phone, there's the MediaTek MT6739 chipset with a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz. Graphics in the smartphone are taken care by PowerVR Rogue GE8100 GPU.

The chipset works in tandem with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card. This dual-SIM smartphone comes laden with Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box, but sadly, Kult did not mention anything about the Android 8.0 Oreo update in the future.

Optics in the device include a 13MP camera at the back and a 13MP selfie shooter on the front. Interestingly, both the cameras come paired with a dual-tone LED flash. The phone measures 8.65mm in thickness and weighs 170grams.

This entire package is backed by a 4000mAh battery, which is the USP of the smartphone along with the selfie cameras. Connectivity options in the device include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and micro USB port for charging & data transfer. The fingerprint scanner is placed to the back of the device.

In contrast, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 offers better specifications than the Kult Impulse at Rs 8,999. The Redmi 5 sports a smaller HD+ display of 5.7-inch, comes with the much-powerful Snapdragon 450 SoC paired with a 3300mAh battery, boots customised MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat, rocks a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter.
