IDEA Cellular, the pan-India mobile operator has bagged the Title sponsorship for the ODI Cricket tri-series & the Test match series, to be played in Bangladesh , starting January 4, 2010. The Cricket tournament which includes a seven match ODI tri-series between India , Bangladesh & Sri Lanka and two test match series between India and Bangladesh will be titled ‘The IDEA Cup’.
As Title Sponsor of the tournament, IDEA Cellular will gain exclusive rights to branding at strategic locations at the venue of cricket matches in Bangladesh , and on the trophies of both the tournaments. IDEA Cellular will run contests to enable its customers to win free tickets to the tournament. IDEA will also offer a chance for its customers to win merchandize and meet the cricket stars.

The IDEA Cup ODI series starts from 4th January and ends on the 13th, followed by the test match which starts on 17th January and goes on till the end of the month. This series makes it even more special as India has recently reached the position of No. 1 Test Team in the World as per the ICC rankings. The fans are also looking forward to seeing how much India is willing to fight to maintain the position and cement it further. Sri Lanka , having lost the recent series will definitely fight even harder to ensure they don’t let India keep the title. With Bangladesh being a serious competitor at home and having always performed extremely well in their home series – the stakes seem to be pretty high for the three teams participating in the IDEA Cup.
