Idea Cellular has been aggressively launching new prepaid tariff plans every now and then to take on its counterparts- Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. In a bid to attract heavy voice calling users, Idea Cellular has now come up with a new prepaid plan priced at Rs 295 and it offers benefits for a period of 42 days from the date of recharge. This new prepaid recharge fro Idea Cellular doesn't come anywhere close to Rs 279 prepaid plan of Vodafone, but it does offer better benefits than Airtel's Rs 299 prepaid plan. For the unaware, Airtel has a Rs 299 open market prepaid plan offering unlimited voice calling for 45 days. For some users, the same plan provides data and SMS benefits too, but we're comparing the open market plans of both telcos. Airtel also revamped its prepaid plan of Rs 289 for some users, but again, it's a segmented revision.

Idea Cellular Rs 295 Prepaid Recharge: Benefits and Details

This prepaid bundled offering by Aditya Birla owned telco offers 5GB 2G/3G/4G data to the subscribers for the entire validity period of 42 days. Like we mentioned above, the plan also offers voice calling benefits as well. However, the voice calling remains limited to 250 minutes a day and has also been capped weekly at the rate of 1000 minutes a week. Before exhausting the FUP limit for calling subscribers will be able to make free local, STD or roaming calls. The validity of this plan is 42 days.

After FUP Charges for Rs 295 Idea Cellular Recharge

Another thing to note about this plan is that subscribers will be limited to calling only 100 unique numbers in consecutive 7 days. In total, there are going to be three limitations on voice calling which would include a daily cap, a monthly cap and a cap on the count of unique numbers which the subscribers dial in a period of seven consecutive days. In case the subscribers cross any of this FUP capex they will be charged at the rate of 1p/sec.

Data Related FUP on Rs 295 Idea Cellular Recharge

We mentioned earlier in the plan details that this recharge by Idea Cellular will avail the subscribers 5GB data for the entire validity period. In case the subscribers exhaust this limit, the further data use will be chargeable at 4p/10KB. Readers should keep in mind that Airtel also offers a similar plan which bundles only unlimited calling for 45 days at Rs 299. In Idea’s plan, however, subscriber get the added advantage of 100 SMSes per day along with some data.

No wonder, this plan by Idea Cellular has been launched to compete with Bharti Airtel Rs 299 plan which offers only voice calling benefits which remain genuinely unlimited for the validity period. The downside with the Idea Cellular plan is the cap which the telco has set on the calling. However, to make up for that, Idea Cellular has also sprinkled the plan with 5GB data and SMS benefits.
