Idea Cellular GPRS in Kolkata

Idea Cellular GPRS in KolkataKolkata’s latest GSM operator Idea Cellular starts GPRS service to its customers on its 2.75G network over Kolkata. Now Kolkata’s Idea customers can access internet on mobile on-the-go easily.

All Idea  SIMs are coming with pre-activated GPRS and what you have to do set your GSM handset according to Idea GPRS settings, to get GPRS Settings, SMS ‘SET’ to 54671, it will also set MMS settings,though MMS is still not available on Idea Kolkata.

GPRS Plans

Default (ZERO Rental) 2p/kB

Re 1/day – no free Data usage, data usage charge 1p/kB

Rs20/day – unlimited usage for the day

Details Call 53500/12345 from your Idea mobile or Send SMS ‘GPRS’ tp 50505. From other connections, call 9088012345

Idea’s Data Card services are coming soon to Kolkata.

Verdict: Idea GPRS is costly compared to Kolkata’s other GSM operators,  Pay-as-Use  plan of Airtel 30p/50kB, Vodafone 10p/10kB, and Tata DoCoMo 1p/kB !
