IDEA Cellular, the largest mobile operator in Maharashtra and Goa has crossed the 8 million subscriber mark, as on June end 2009. With a monthly net addition of over 2 lakh subscribers during the last month, IDEA CELLULAR now holds 35% marketshare in Maharasthtra & Goa. With 8,000,687 subscribers in June end 2009, as compared to 5,444,733 subscribers in June end 2008, IDEA recorded 47% growth in subscribers in the 12 months’ period.
IDEA Cellular, an Aditya Birla Group Company, started its GSM mobile services from the telecom circle of Maharashtra & Goa in 1996. IDEA has always been at the forefront of the telecom revolution and has launched a slew of mobile products and services designed to suit the communication needs of diverse segment of users.
