Huawei is known for setting audacious goals in the smartphone market and this year it's now different. Huawei is aiming to ship more than 150 million smartphones across the globe in 2018, and 70 million of them will be the budget & mid-range Honor devices. At the ongoing CES Asia 2018, Huawei stated that it shipped six million units of Huawei P20 devices including the Huawei P20, P20 Pro and the P20 Lite. The Chinese company also confirmed the shipments are up by 81% globally compared to Huawei P10 series shipments last year.

“The incredible reception and sales performance of the Huawei P20 Series demonstrate that we understand our markets, and show our commitment to innovation and R&D. We see our success with the HUAWEI P20 Series as encouragement to drive us to continue to excel. Expect to see more from us before the year closes out,” said Kevin Ho, President of Huawei’s Handsets Product Line.

Huawei announced the P20 series back at the end of March 2018 and in less than three months, it managed to ship six million units of the entire P20 portfolio. Huawei also launched the flagship P20 Pro and mid-range P20 Lite smartphones in India in April, so the overall shipments number also include that of India's.

The USP of the P20 Pro is its triple rear camera. For the first time in the history, Huawei has used a 40MP primary RGB camera on the P20 Pro with f/1.8 aperture, 27mm lens and 1/1.7-inch sensor size. The primary sensor is paired with a 20MP monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture and an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. Together with Huawei's AI prowess, the P20 Pro is rated as the best camera smartphone by DxOMark. Rest of the specifications of the P20 Pro are pretty much similar to the Honor 10, which is launched at a price of Rs 32,999. The Huawei P20 Pro in India is priced at Rs 64,999. While Huawei raised some eyebrows with the pricing of the P20 Pro, it delivered a decent mid-range smartphone at Rs 19,999 in the form of the Huawei P20 Lite.
