The HTC Nexus 9, which was announced last week by Google along with Nexus 6 and Android 5.0 Lollipop, has been listed on the Google Play Store. The 16GB Wi-Fi only model has been priced at Rs. 28,900 while the 32GB Wi-Fi + LTE model has been listed at a price of Rs. 44,900. As of now, there is no LTE version of the 16GB variant and neither is the Wi-Fi only version of the 32GB variant of the Nexus 9. Google has also listed the cover of the Nexus 9 for Rs. 2,900 which will be available in three colours; Black, Lime Stone, and Mint Indigo.
The HTC Nexus 9 features an 8.9-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) IPS LCD display, dual front-facing HTC BoomSound stereo speakers, an 8-megapixel primary camera, and a 1.6-megapixel secondary camera. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, powered by a 2.3GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra K1 processor with 64-bit Denver CPU cores, 192-core Kepler GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage space.
Its connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac/b/g/n with 2x2 MIMO, Bluetooth v4.1, A-GPS (LTE version only), and microUSB v2.0 port. It contains a 6,700 mAh battery and Google claims that the Nexus 9 can last up to 9.5 hours of web browsing or video playback when connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Apple will be launching the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3 in India, starting at a price of Rs. 35,900 and Rs. 28,900 respectively. The Apple iPad Mini 3 will be the perfect competitor for the Nexus 9 as they are priced similarly and feature similar specifications.
