The Honor 7X was touted as one of the best budget smartphones across the globe. In fact, Honor gave the device a tagline of Global Best Seller when they launched the phone in India. Today, Honor USA has confirmed that the Honor 7X will receive the Android Oreo update starting April 30. The update rollout is confirmed in the United States, but other countries will follow the suit right after. However, we're not sure when Honor India will push the Oreo update to the Indian consumers. Earlier in Q1 2018, Honor stated that the 7X would pick up Oreo update in Q2 2018. The Oreo update rollout could be a phased one with some countries receiving it first followed by other countries in the future with the rollout spread across the entire Q2.

The Android Oreo update for the Honor 7X will be based on EMUI 8.0, but it's not sure yet whether the update will be based Android 8.1 Oreo or the Android 8.0 Oreo. Other Honor smartphones released after the Honor 7X- the Honor 9 Lite and the Honor View 10 arrived with Android Oreo out of the box. Notably, the company already released the Oreo update to the Honor 8 Pro flagship smartphone and next on the line are the Honor 7X and Honor 9i.

The Honor 7X was released at a global event on December 5. Initially, the device received a good reception, but after the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Honor 9 Lite, the popularity of the device faded away. But still, the smartphone is a good option for users looking out for a good-looking smartphone around Rs 13,000.

The Honor 7X sports a 5.93-inch Full HD+ display and is powered by Huawei's own HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC. It comes in two variants- one with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and the other one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The 32GB variant is priced at Rs 12,999 whereas the 64GB variant sets you back by Rs 15,999.

It rocks a 16MP camera at the back paired with a 2MP depth sensor. An 8MP front-facing camera is present on the front. The fingerprint scanner is present at the rear side of the phone while a 3340mAh battery backs the entire package.
