Hathway Broadband or ACT Fibernet: Which One Offers Better Plans With Attractive Prices?

Follow Us

The broadband playing field in India has grown intensely competitive in the last few months majorly because of the imminent launch of the Reliance JioFiber FTTH service. However, the other broadband service providers are also leaving no stone unturned to make sure that new subscribers are lured towards their pricing, plans and offers. In this sector, two players which have been trying to attract new customers are ACT Fibernet and Hathway broadband. While ACT Fibernet has been known to provide high-speed broadband plans, Hathway is also a service provider which is offering unlimited data on many of its plans. Also, a lot of cities that ACT Fibernet is active in, also happen to be operational cities for Hathway as well. Therefore, some competition is bound to brew between the two companies. With this little comparison between the two service providers, you will be able to choose the plan suited to your home broadband needs.

ACT Fibernet vs Hathway Broadband: Plans Upto 30 Mbps

The first thing to note is that ACT Fibernet has very few plans when it comes to low speeds. For example, ACT Fibernet has the 15 Mbps plan offering 100GB data which it ships for Rs 685 per month. After this, ACT Fibernet directly has a 50 Mbps plan with 240GB data, 1500GB additional data for Rs 959 per month. Whereas, Hathway is focusing more on providing unlimited data to its subscribers in the low-speed range. Hathway is giving its subscribers options like 20 Mbps, 30 Mbps in addition to a 50 Mbps plan. For example, in Bangalore, which we are taking as the city of reference for both the companies, the 30 Mbps plan from ACT Fibernet, which provides unlimited data is available for Rs 999 per month.

ACT Fibernet vs Hathway Broadband: 50 Mbps Plans

This tells us that if you simply want to stream some content online and your internet needs majorly comprise of minimal browsing then, Hathway’s plan with unlimited data would be a better choice. On the other hand, Hathway’s 20 Mbps plan with 100GB data, is available for Rs 699 which competes directly with ACT Fibernet 15 Mbps plan of Rs 685. However, in the 50 Mbps plan, it’s a tough choice between Hathway and ACT Fibernet since Hathway offers 500GB data per month with 50 Mbps speed, 4 Mbps after-FUP speed and a Rs 999 monthly rental. Whereas, ACT Fibernet offers the 50 Mbps plan with 240GB monthly data, but with 1500GB additional data. The plan’s rental is Rs 959, and the after-FUP speed remains 512 Kbps.

ACT Fibernet vs Hathway Broadband: 100 Mbps and Above Plans

Venturing further into the 100 Mbps category, Hathway sweeps a clear win as the service provider is offering 100 Mbps plan with, 1000GB data per month and 5 Mbps after-FUP speed for a monthly rental of Rs 999, but with a minimum subscription period of 3 months. Comparatively, ACT Fibernet is offering the same speed with 400GB monthly data, after-FUP speed of 1 Mbps and a rental of Rs 1,159. However, the Hathway plan is available in select locations only. Similarly, the Hathway 150 Mbps plan with 1000GB data also starts at Rs 1,299 per month whereas, ACT Fibernet 150 Mbps plans begin at Rs 1,999.
