Key Features of the Zurich PoP
The new Zurich PoP is set to function as a key internet hub, offering a variety of connectivity solutions, including IP transit and DATAIX Internet Exchange services. These services will be available through 1G, 10G, 40G, and 100G ports, providing flexible options for different bandwidth needs.
Network Integration and Expansion
Additionally, the new PoP is integrated with GlobalNet's fiber optic backbone through a connection to the Frankfurt PoP at Equinix FR5, the company added. This connection route passes through a ROADM node in Stuttgart, facilitating further expansion into Central Europe.
Alex Surkoff, Business Development Director at GlobalNet, described the Zurich expansion as a strategic move to strengthen the company's network presence in Europe. "The integration of the Zurich PoP with our existing infrastructure, particularly the high-capacity routes recently established in Frankfurt, ensures that our clients benefit from robust, low-latency connections throughout the region," he said.
