Putting a stop to the rumour mill, Gionee has finally announced its much-awaited smartphone in China with mammoth 7000mAh polymer lithium-ion battery. The smartphone is named as Gionee M2017.
The Gionee M2017 comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD AMOLED low power consumption curved screen clubbed with sapphire glass protection. It is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 653 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage (based on the variant). The 7000mAh battery on the phone is touted by the company to deliver up to 25 hours of video playback and 915.42 hours on standby. To stand by dual fast charging chip and 24W Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo OS 3.5 skin on top. Regarding design, the phone comes with a metal frame and leather rear. There are dual rear cameras onboard with 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel lenses with 2x optical zoom. The phone sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera onboard. There is also a fingerprint sensor, which is placed on the front in the Home button. For connectivity, the phone supports Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB OTG, and USB 2.0 Type-C.
The Gionee M2017 will be up for sale in Gold and Black colour options. The phone is priced 6999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 68,240) for the standard variant while the exclusive model featuring Italian custom alligator leather back is priced at exorbitant 16999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 1,65,740).
