First Android-Powered Nokia Smartphone, the Nokia 6 Goes Official: Top 5 Features to Look For

After all the rumors and speculations, first Nokia-branded Android smartphone goes official in China. However, the saddest part is the smartphone won’t be coming to India nor any other market as it is exclusive to the Chinese market.

HMD Global, the parent company of Nokia, has a reason for being the smartphone exclusive to the Chinese market. The highlight of the Nokia 6 is its design as the phone looks stunning. Also, at the launch, the company claimed that it took 55 minutes for them to manufacture a single Nokia 6 unit and the materials used in this phone is the popular 6000 series aluminum, which was also employed in the Apple iPhone 6 series and everyone is still aware of the bending issue of the iPhone 6 Plus.

But, Nokia claims there won’t be any problems with the Nokia 6, though. Check out the specifications of the newly announced Nokia 6 below.

1) A 5.5-inch Full HD Display

The Nokia 6 is clearly a mid-range smartphone, and it comes with a 5.5-inch hybrid in-cell Full HD display. The display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology, and Nokia has added another layer of additional protection for better sunlight legibility.

2) Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC and 4GB of RAM

The Nokia 6 is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, aided with 4GB of RAM. The phone also comes with 64GB of internal storage with support for further expansion of storage up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.

3) 16MP Rear Camera and 8MP Selfie Camera

The Nokia 6 comes with a 16MP rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture and PDAF technology. We are pretty much interested to see how this Nokia 6 fares in the camera performance as Nokia previously has set themselves a place in the camera department. There is also an 8MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture.

4) Dolby ATMOS Technology Speakers

Interestingly enough, the Nokia 6 comes with two speakers with support for the industry standard Dolby ATMOS technology. That said, the phone will undoubtedly excel in its audio performance.

5) Android Nougat Out-of-the-box

In line with all the rumors, the Nokia 6 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. This entire package is backed with a 3000mAh battery and sadly, the company did not mention any support for fast charging support.

The Nokia 6 won’t be coming to India, but we are expecting the upcoming Nokia phones to reach Indian shores. The much-rumored Nokia D1C along with a couple of other flagship phones are due to be released at the MWC 2017.

What do you think of this move from Nokia to nor bring the phone to other markets? Will you support them? We certainly are disappointed with this move. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Nokia, just ignore the SDs who always talk about thr price and criticize you. I welcome you whole hearted. Chuck the third class companies xiaomi, vivo, oppo etc out from India. Quality and durability wins in India compared to the price. Example : Nokia N8, 808 pureview ; Samsung : J7 (2016), On nxt, S5, Note 2 N7100, Note 3 N9005, Note 4 SM-910G, S7 edge

Oppo isn’t a third class company: most of the parts in Oppo phones are from Samsung.

Thanks for proving your incapability of buying a mobile phone from a branded company (like Nokia / Microsoft, Sony, Samsung or Videocon).

Using a oppo mobile phone?.

January 10, 2017 2:04 am 2:04 AM

You call videocon a brand? Are you serious?
FYI I use an LG. And I know internal parts of phones unlike you.
Coolpad, Xiaomi, Vivo are cheap brands. OPPO and Asus aren’t.

January 10, 2017 9:42 am 9:42 AM

Videocon is far more better than the third class xiaomi. LG also has boot loop problem or phones getting bricked after warranty. Enough?.

January 10, 2017 9:58 am 9:58 AM

Videocon designs nothing. Xiaomi at least designs stuff. Dude, not defending Xiaomi here but calling videoconferencing quality is seriously pushing sanity.
Bootloop or not, LG produces great phones and mostly the critics agree.

January 10, 2017 12:25 pm 12:25 PM

What is the use of LG producing phones with boot loop problem?. Use your common sense. LG produces great phones. Samsung produces durable, and good quality phones that are worth the money unlike LG where a single boot loop will make your money swaahaa.

Good joke. But no one will laugh.

January 9, 2017 7:29 am 7:29 AM

SD 400 series is the only minus point. But still I hope it will be better and durable than the third class xiaomi, vivo, lava, oppo etc.

Branded companies always rock.

SD 430 performs better than SD 616/617

Nokia did not do the right first move by launching a product exclusively for China.

Neglecting the others worldwide fans is just not right.

Very dissappointed.

January 10, 2017 2:09 am 2:09 AM

Nokia will launch the same phone with a different body and model name in India tentatively in April-May.

January 10, 2017 10:03 am 10:03 AM

Source? Why like this? Let’s invest more in one plus 3t/xiaomi mi5

January 8, 2017 7:09 pm 7:09 PM

Nice, my Indian brothers will cry for price. Why this is not prices for ?3999? It’s so costly, we can’t purchase it. Buddy if you can’t purchase it it’s your problem. But Chinese product and be happy.

January 10, 2017 12:26 am 12:26 AM

Well said man. +10000000 for your post.

Most people only look the price before buying a handset and not the price to the facilities / quality ratio.

January 9, 2017 5:32 pm 5:32 PM
Praying or loving something doesn’t mean you to hate rest. Why on earth you bother for someone purchasing power and choice. Make sure you don’t cry ever when buying anything in future.. it’s human tendency to compare. People dont buy iPhone thinking it’s better than Micromax, but they never understand the gap in thinking. Treating something like that tells you how cheap you are. Unlike branded Android phones, good hardware phones has custom OS of choice and taste. Only problem is you pay before for service with premium brands, for others you pay later… you should not be like, anything… Read more »

Your post proved that most people only look the price and not the price to the facilities and price to the quality ratio before buying a handset.

Notr : This doesn’t mean that I canvase others to buy high end phones. Buy any good model mobile phone from any one of the branded companies (Nokia / Microsoft, Samsung, Videocon or Sony).

January 10, 2017 2:12 am 2:12 AM

Your credibility is zero since you call Videocon a brand. Secondly, the Samsung J series phones are the worst phones you can buy in any price range. Want some good phones? Go LG Sony or HTC. Huawei and OnePlus are not so bad either.

January 9, 2017 7:27 am 7:27 AM

Well said man. The third class xiaomi, vivo, micromax addictors will even expect iphone 8 to be less than Rs.10000 !!!. Lol. Foolish creatures.

January 9, 2017 10:31 pm 10:31 PM

Says a man who brought a refurbished Samsung crap.

January 9, 2017 5:43 pm 5:43 PM

Upgrade your samsung note 4. Still on 3 year old phone.? I hope Samsung don’t loose to Nokia, Xiaomi, Lenovo in future..already Sony is out of India in budget level category…hope Samsung don’t face same in budget level.

January 10, 2017 12:20 am 12:20 AM

Can you match any other phone equal to Samsung Note 4 or any other phone now?. You do not have any qualities to insist me on upgrading despite of you being a non Samsung, Nokia or Sony phone owner who does not know about thr price to the facility and durability of branded companies (Nokia / Microsoft, Samsung, Sony)

January 10, 2017 2:07 am 2:07 AM

Dude. I used the Xperia M5 well over a year. I can attest that OnePlus is every bit as good.
P. S. I am an engineer meaning I can actually open up the devices and see. Don’t even try to defend this.

Do not judge a phone by dismantling it !!!.
