The development comes as Claro Peru seeks to provide its customers with faster and more reliable broadband experiences while optimizing operational efficiency. By extending Harmonic's CableOS Broadband Platform for FTTH services, Claro Peru aims to meet the growing demand for high-speed internet access and deliver a seamless online experience to its users.
Streamlining Infrastructure Costs
Claro Peru expressed excitement about the upcoming FTTH offering: "We're thrilled to introduce a new FTTH service that not only enhances our customers' broadband experiences but also streamlines our infrastructure costs as we expand our service areas. After successful trials of Harmonic's CableOS Platform in our Lima Hub, we're on track to go live by early next year."
Previous Platform Deployments
Previously Claro Peru had deployed Harmonic's CableOS Platform in a distributed access architecture (DAA) with virtualized CMTS software, Reef Remote PHY (R-PHY) shelves, and Ripple R-PHY nodes.
With the addition of the CableOS Fin 10G SFP+ OLT to Ripple, Claro Peru can now offer both 10G fibre and DOCSIS (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) from the same node, facilitating rapid deployment of fibre services in new markets and competitive regions.
