Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has come a long way from being once very relevant to where it stands today. With its 4G rollout planned in the near future, the telco can gain relevance super fast and can also compete head-on with the private telcos because of its competitive offers. When it comes to prepaid mobile offerings, BSNL is actually the telco with the most affordable plans in the portfolio. But the reason why BSNL's services aren't that lucrative for the customers is because of poor network service compared to private telcos and a lack of 4G.

Today, we will be talking about the Rs 398 prepaid plan offered by BSNL. This is a plan that was once the most unique prepaid plan in the industry. However, a little while back, BSNL actually introduced a few changes to the plan, which made it lose its shine.

BSNL Rs 398 Plan

Until a few months back, BSNL was the only telecom operator in the Indian market that was offering a prepaid plan with truly unlimited data. That's correct; the Rs 398 plan from BSNL came with truly unlimited data for the customers. It had a validity of 30 days. So for the entire period of 30 days, the customer didn't have to worry about how much data he/she was consuming. But that has changed now.

The Rs 398 plan from BSNL now comes with a FUP (fair usage policy) data limit of 120GB. Along with this, the plan offers customers truly unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day. There are no additional benefits bundled with the plan. This plan used to be the center of attraction for quite a while. But that isn't the case anymore because BSNL changed its benefits. However, once BSNL brings its 4G, this plan could gain some traction because of the value it will give to customers.
