BSNL's Overall Subscriber Count and Losses
However, as already envisaged by TelecomTalk, BSNL lost around 1.8 million subscribers in the month of June, bringing its total subscribers to 99,476,822 (around 99.5 Million), which is below the 100 million subscriber mark. In 2010, BSNL announced crossing the 100 million subscriber mark, and now, in June 2023, BSNL has lost its former shine and fallen below that threshold. BSNL's rural wireless subscriber base also now stands at 31,344,019. BSNL lost the three-digit million mark tag much earlier than we predicted.
While BSNL gained wireless subscribers in 11 circles, the massive losses in the remaining circles caused the state-owned telco to lose -1,886,389 subscribers, and MTNL lost -152,912 wireless subscribers.
BSNL's Active Subscriber Count and 4G Rollout
Considering the VLR (Visitor Location Register) percentage of BSNL, which is 52.24, the active wireless subscriber count for BSNL across all circles is around 51,873,324. This represents the number of BSNL wireless users who are active in the VLR for the reported month.
