Taiwanese smartphone brand Asus has now announced the price reduction on Asus Zenfone 5Z, which was the company flagship smartphone of 2018. The Zenfone 5Z's 6GB+128GB variant is now available for Rs 24,999, whereas the premium variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage now costs Rs 28,999. Both the variants received a price cut of Rs 3,000 respectively. Also, it seems like Asus has discontinued the base variant of Zenfone 5Z with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage as the phone is out of stock in Flipkart. The price of 6GB+64GB variant used to Rs 24,999 and the company did not mention any price reduction on this variant though. Also, the Zenfone Max Pro M2 is out of stock on Flipkart for a while now, hinting at the arrival of Zenfone Max Pro M3.

Asus Zenfone 5Z Now Takes on the Redmi K20 and Poco F1

The Zenfone 5Z is the flagship smartphone from Asus and it's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. The price cut comes right after the launch of Redmi K20 which starts at Rs 21,999 and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset. On the other hand, the Poco F1 is currently available for purchase at a starting price of Rs 17,999. During the ongoing Mi Fifth Anniversary celebrations, the 8GB+256GB variant of the Poco F1 is available for an incredibly low price of Rs 22,999.

Feeling the pressure of the price drops on Poco F1, Asus has slashed the Zenfone 5Z prices in India. As noted, the Zenfone 5Z is now available only in two variants- 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB, priced at Rs 24,999 and Rs 28,999 respectively. Earlier, Asus sold the same variants at Rs 27,999 and Rs 31,999. There's no update from Asus on whether it will bring back the 6GB+64GB variant of the Zenfone 5Z or not.
