Taiwanese smartphone brand, Asus, has reduced the price of its 2018 flagship smartphone, the Asus Zenfone 5Z. The smartphone which was launched at a starting price of Rs 29,999 is now available for purchase at Rs 21,999. The Zenfone 5Z is exclusive to Flipkart in India and it’s unknown whether the price drop is a permanent one or a temporary one. Gadgets360 reports that the price reduction of Zenfone 5Z is a temporary one and it’ll be back to original price post the offer period on June 21. For the asking price of Rs 21,999, the Zenfone 5Z is a decent buy as it offers glass build, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB of RAM on the base variant and more. Before this price drop, the Asus Zenfone 5Z’s base variant was available for Rs 24,999, so it’s a Rs 3,000 price drop for a temporary period.

Asus Zenfone 5Z Gets Cheaper in India
Right now, the prices of the Asus Zenfone 5Z for the 6GB+128GB variant is Rs 21,999, while the variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs Rs 25,999. Before the price drop, the same variants were selling for Rs 24,999 and Rs 29,999 respectively. The phone is available for purchase in two colour options- Meteor Silver and Midnight Blue. The Zenfone 5Z’s 64GB variant is currently out of stock, but it seems like the company has phased out the base variant to go head on with the Poco F1.
For the unaware, the Poco F1 with Snapdragon 845 SoC now starts at just Rs 17,999. The base variant of Poco F1 ships with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, while the 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage model is selling for Rs 20,999. So the difference between the 6GB+128GB variants of Poco F1 and Asus Zenfone 5Z is just Rs 1,000 right now. The Zenfone 5Z is a good smartphone compared to the Poco F1 because of the additional features like the glass body, slightly better cameras and a good display.
