Apple acknowledged the issue and had started rolling out a global repair program for the plagued units. As per the repair program, Apple will be fixing the faulty iPhone 6 Plus units at $149 (approx. Rs. 10,150). The eligible units should be in working condition without any crack on the screen. One of the conventional methods that Apple resorts to whenever its devices face a backlash.

The touch problem within the iPhone 6 Plus units is due to a shortcoming in the small ‘touch IC’ connectors. One can easily spot the problem as the phone display flickering grey bar at the top of the screen. Touch IC connectors are responsible for touch input, a fault in these connectors leads to detached touch input. Apple also stated that the iPhone 6 Plus could also face such problem if it has been dropped on a hard floor.

In an official statement, Apple said,"Apple has determined that some iPhone 6 Plus devices may exhibit display flickering or Multi-Touch issues after being dropped multiple times on a hard surface and then incurring further stress on the device. If your iPhone 6 Plus is exhibiting the symptoms noted above, is in working order, and the screen is not cracked or broken, Apple will repair your device for a service price of $149."
