Samsung may not have an official launch date for its upcoming flagship Galaxy S9 and S9+, but thanks to a number of leaks we have a good idea of how the devices will look like. A new leak of alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 back covers points to single camera configuration at the rear. This may disappoint a lot of enthusiasts who were hoping for an S9 with a dual-lens camera. On the bright side, Samsung has repositioned the fingerprint sensor, which will now feature below the camera.

However, for those who prefer dual camera flagship, Samsung will launch larger display S9+ with dual-lens configuration. Overall, Samsung’s flagship devices may come with few boring visual updates as the Galaxy S9, S9+ will essentially “S” upgrades. They will look almost identical to their predecessors but may feature some important additions as such improved performance.

Previously, notable leakster @OnLeaks shared CAD-based renders and as well as a 360-degree video of S9, S9+. These images give us another close look at the probable design of Samsung’s next flagship.

Shown from both front and back, the design of S9 is reminiscent of Galaxy S8. Up front, the device features a screen that covers most of the panel with rounded corners and curved edges. The top and bottom bezels seem to be about the same size as in the Galaxy S8. The USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker, volume rocker, power, and Bixby button follow the same placement as the Galaxy S8.

However, there appear to be a few differences, most notably in the rear camera setup. The fingerprint sensor will be placed just underneath the camera lens, as per the renders. Another small change is that the heart rate sensor is moved to the right side of the rear camera module. The S9+ comes with a dual-lens configuration while everything else remains same.

As for the specs, the Galaxy S9 is said to ship with Qualcomm’s top-line latest Snapdragon 845 chipset which was unveiled just recently. There will also be a Samsung Exynos 9810 SoC-powered variant of both the phones for international markets. The device is expected to come with 4GB of RAM and while there may be 6GB RAM variant too. The S9, S9+ will likely run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
