Bharti Airtel is again in tough competition with Reliance Jio. This time Airtel has decided to launch a new data add on plan to counter Jio's attractive offers. Airtel has launched two new data add-on offers which are priced Rs 49 and Rs 92 ane offer 3GB of data and 6GB of data respectively. There is one twist however, which is the eligibility for the offer. Every user of Airtel would not be able to benefit from this plan. For the users on an unlimited combo plan, these Rs 49 and Rs 92 data add-on plans will be valid as per the unlimited combo plan. While for other users, the Rs 49 plan offers 3GB of data for three days and the Rs 92 plan gives 6GB of data for seven days. For the users on an unlimited combo plan, these Rs 49 and Rs 92 data add-on plans will be valid as per the unlimited combo plan. While for other users, the Rs 49 plan offers 3GB of data for three days and the Rs 92 plan gives 6GB of data for seven days.
For example, you're an Airtel prepaid customer using the company's Rs 448 unlimited combo plan which gives a user unlimited voice calls, 1.4GB data per day and 100 SMS per day for 84 days. Now if you recharge with any of the data add-on mentioned above, the validity of the plan will be same as your unlimited combo plan's validity. For the non-unlimited combo plan users, the plans will be valid for three days and seven days as mentioned above.
Reliance Jio also has similar data add-on plans, but the Mukesh Ambani-owned telco has four of them- Rs 11, Rs 21, Rs 51 and Rs 101. The Rs 51 add-on gives 3GB of data while the Rs 101 offers 6GB of data, same as Airtel's Rs 49 and Rs 101 plans. And Jio's data add-on plans are open market ones and comes with the validity same as the prepaid plan's validity.
This is not the first time Airtel has introduced such data add-on plans. The telco earlier launched a Rs 193 data add-on which offered 1GB of data every day on top of the existing tariff plan. That said, Airtel is still offering the Rs 193 data add-on for some users in some circles. Earlier, Airtel also offered Rs 49 data add-on which offered just 1GB of data, but the same add-on now revised to offer 3GB of data, in order to compete with Jio's Rs 51 data add-on pack.
