Indian telecom sector is currently undergoing some significant changes, especially after the entrance of Reliance Jio. What started as a trend by Vodafone India with the 'SuperHour' data packs is now followed by the other operators as well. After Idea Cellular following Vodafone with hourly data packs, it's now time for Aircel to do the same.

Yes, Aircel entered the hourly data bandwagon by introducing a new plan of Rs. 15, which gives the user unlimited 3G data for an hour. However, currently, the plan is live only for the users of Tamil Nadu and Aircel will introduce the plans in every city of India shortly.

Also, do make a note that the plan may not be available for users of Chennai circle as the official website of Aircel lists the circle does not come under Tamil Nadu. That said, Aircel users can enjoy unlimited data for one hour at just Rs. 15. The subscribers of Aircel under Tamil Nadu circle can activate the pack by dialling the USSD code- *121*015#, and as of now, that's the only way to activate the pack, which might be a disappointment for some users.

Of late, Aircel has been struggling to keep up the name in Indian telecom sector and was purely dominated by new entrant Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone with their offerings. Although Aircel came out with several attractive plans, that wasn't enough for the telecom company to lure the customers.

According to the TRAI speed test reports, Aircel is offering mere download speeds of 2.3 Mbps in the 3G network. Having said that, Aircel is yet to deploy the 4G network in India. In the process of not sustaining the emerging Indian telecom sector, Aircel had agreed to merge with RCom led by Anil Ambani and the man himself said that the merger would be done by mid-2017.

Besides, Aircel recently launched a plan, which offers unlimited voice calling for one complete day to any network at just Rs. 14. With this unlimited hourly data pack, Aircel is surely trying to make its mark in the market and to retain customers as well. In the COAI monthly report for the month of January 2017, Aircel has added just 164,752 new subscribers, which tells the entire story.

Are you a customer of Aircel under Tamil Nadu circle? If yes, please let us know your experience in activating and using the Aircel's hourly data pack.
