Anticipating threat from Reliance Jio, as the 4G operator is all set to launch Gigafiber in the coming weeks and other operators who are rapidly cutting broadband data tariff, South based leading ISP ACT Fibernet has started offering free speed and bundled data upgrade to most of its customers across its operational cities to protect subscriber base.
Act Fibernet which offers high speed broadband services across 11 cities including Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Delhi is offering up to 100% speed and bundled data upgrade to select customers, while majority of the customers are getting a speed upgrade of 50% in their existing plans at no extra cost.
An executive from the ACT pricing team shared with us 'We're offering speed upgrade to most of our existing customers while the company is looking to cut down data tariff by offering more data in existing plans for all customers to compete with other operators.' Though he was unaware as to when the company would amend most of the market plans.
Besides offering free speed upgrade, ACT is also offering Video and Movie content to boost its subscriber base in the markets where Jio is believed to launch its ultra-speed broadband services with free content like TV, music and movies on demand to tap the market. According to the latest regulatory report, ACT had more than 1.05 million wired broadband customers at the end of August 2016.
