BSNL Launches IFTV Service in Partnership with Skypro and PlayboxTV
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched the IFTV (Integrated Free TV) service nationwide, offering a platform that combines over 550 live SD and HD TV channels with more than 18 premium OTT apps. Developed in collaboration with technology partner Skypro and OTT provider PlayboxTV, this platform offers a seamless entertainment experience through a single subscription. "This initiative bridges live television and on-demand OTT content under a single subscription, providing accessibility, convenience, and affordability to millions of viewers nationwide for free," the companies announced on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

BSNL Unveils IFTV Platform

The launch event was attended by government dignitaries, including Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister of Communications; A Robert J Ravi, ITS, CMD, BSNL; Neeraj Mittal, IAS, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications; and leadership teams from Skypro and PlayboxTV.

Key Features of IFTV Platform

"With over 4 million FTTH customers across diverse terrains of India, from urban to rural areas, BSNL now enables all its customers to access premium TV and OTT apps at no additional cost," the companies said.

Skypro, as the technological backbone of IFTV, ensures infrastructure and smooth content delivery, while PlayboxTV curates a selection of premium content, blending live TV and OTT services into a single app for mobile and TV platforms.

Access to BSNL Broadband Users

To celebrate the launch, BSNL broadband customers can enjoy free access to over 550 live TV channels and 18 premium OTT platforms. As part of the launch offer, BSNL users can experience IFTV at no additional cost through their existing broadband plans.

Commenting on the initiative, HK Makkar CGM, Maharashtra said, "This collaboration with Skypro and PlayboxTV to launch IFTV is a game changer for our customers, particularly in rural India.
