Postpaid SMS Ban Revoked In Jammu & Kashmir

A ban imposed on SMS service of GSM and CDMA Mobile operators in Jammu & Kashmir by The Department of Telecommunications (DOT), (Ministry of Communications & IT) has been revoked within a matter of hours, after State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah intervention and protested strongly against it.

According to the Home Ministry's statements. The Home Ministry has decided to ask the Department of telecommunication (DOT) to withdraw the order and provide continued service to people in the state.




As earlier we Shared on TelecomTalk that The Department of Telecom (DOT) had asked the All 12 mobile service operator (UAS/CMTS) including state-operator BSNL and other private mobile service providers like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar, TTSL,  Rcom to withdraw SMS (text message) service to their post-paid users and limits/restrict 10 SMS to prepaid users in J&K altogether.
