Samsung may start pushing the Android 10 update to its 2019 high-end smartphones in January 2020. Samsung Israel has notified users via Samsung Members app on when the phones will get Android 10 update. Every year, Samsung releases roadmap for the latest iteration of Android 10, but this year, the company has stayed silent. Now, it has revealed the Android 10 update roadmap for Galaxy devices. Even the high-end Samsung phones like the Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 will receive the latest iteration of Android only in January 2020. In several countries, Samsung has already released the beta versions of Android 10 to the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 series and it's said to see the brand pushing stable update rollout to January 2020.

Android 10 Roadmap for Samsung Phones and Tablets Revealed

Samsung will release the Android 10 update to more than 15 smartphones and all these phones will get OneUI 2.0. Samsung has refined the software experience last year with OneUI and OneUI 2.0 will be based on Android 10. As for the release timeline, the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series are first in the line to get the update in January 2020. This essentially means Samsung will not release Android 10 update to any of its tablet or mobile phone this year, which is underwhelming.

Brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi and HMD Global have at least one smartphone running Android 10. Other brands like Oppo, Vivo and Realme will have at least one phone running Android 10 by the end of 2019. That said, we will get to see a Samsung phone running Android 10 only in January 2020 which will be a piece of disappointing news for many. However, do make a note that the timeline is for Samsung phones in Israel, so the timeline may differ with every country. As mentioned above, Samsung is already testing Android 10 on several phones, so it will be a matter of time before the official rollout begins.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 series will get the update in April 2019, followed by the Galaxy Note 9 sometime in July 2019. OnePlus, which released the OnePlus 6T around the same time as the Galaxy Note 9 already pushed the stable Android 10 update to its smartphone, but the Note 9 will receive it at the end of the first half of 2020. Nevertheless, the timeline may differ with region to region, so stay tuned for Samsung India to reveal the roadmap.

Mid-Range Samsung Phones Also to Get Update in H1 2020

Not only Samsung high-end phones, but other mid-range Galaxy phones will also get the update in H1 2020. Samsung Israel says the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A70 will also receive the update in April alongside the Galaxy S9 series. The Galaxy Tab S4 will get the update only in September 2020, which is sad news for the owners of the tablet.

Other Samsung phones released in 2019 like the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A10s, Galaxy A20, Galaxy A20s, Galaxy A30, Galaxy A50s, Galaxy A70s, Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20, Galaxy M30, Galaxy M30s and so on will also get the update by the end of 2020. Samsung should at least have one device running Android 10 going into 2020, otherwise, it will be a huge disappointment for the owners of Samsung phones.

In other news, Google already issued a directive to the mobile brands that they have to release phones with only Android 10 after January 31, 2020.
