EMUI 9 Update Removes the Ability to Use Third-Party Launchers From Honor, Huawei Phones

EMUI 9 update based on Android 9 Pie has already started rolling out to some Honor as well as Huawei smartphones. With the update, the company is looking to enhance the overall user experience. Huawei has witnessed several users complaining about the performance of some third-party app launchers, which isn’t in the hands of Huawei. This is the reason why the Chinese smartphone maker has decided to remove the ability to use third-party launchers from EMUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie.

The EMUI 9 is rolling out to users in China, and as of now, Huawei hasn’t officially come out with details regarding if it plans to bring back the third party launcher support to Honor or Huawei phones or not. Most users love using third party launcher apps in this phones, but there are some such apps that come with malware, which instead of improving the user experience, comprises on it. As noted, several users have previously complained about the performance of some third-party launchers, which sometimes come with malware and leaves the device impaired.

Huawei has reportedly been getting several service complaints from users and hence the company has decided to take the measure of removing the third party launcher support from EMUI 9. It all started when a Reddit user contributed to the discussion by explaining the new development and how the company is planning to mitigate the many service complaints about malware from Huawei and Honor phone users.
