Xiaomi-Backed Yeelight Enters India With Four Smart Lights Starting at Rs 2,499

After teasing for a whole month, the Xiaomi-backed Yeelight has entered the Indian market with four smart lights at a starting price of Rs 2,499. The company has introduced four products including a smart lamp, a light strip and two smart bulbs, priced between Rs 2,000 to 10,000, the China-based company said in a statement. The four products launched by Yeelight are Yeelight Smart LED Bulb (coloured and white), Yeelight Aurora Lightstrip Plus along with an extension product and Yeelight Candela Lamp.

The Yeelight Smart LED Bulb White is priced at Rs 2,499, while the coloured one costs Rs 2,799. The Aurora Lightstrip Plus costs Rs 3,499 and the extension strip costs Rs 1,799. Lastly, the Yeelight Candela Lamp will retail for Rs 4,999 in the country. In the first phase, its products will be exclusively available on Amazon and later, it would also be available at retail outlets and experiential zones of major metro cities. Commenting on the development, Yeelight Founder and CEO Eric Jiang said: "With the smart lighting industry in India facing the upward growth trajectory, we are extremely excited to foray into the Indian markets."

The company would focus smart light segment with quality products at value plus price points, he added. Yeelight products will be imported and distributed in India by its partner PR Innovations.

Incubated by SOSVenture, Yeelight became a part of Xiaomi ecosystem in 2014. Under the brand of both Xiaomi and Yeelight, the company has shipped millions of connected lighting products to over 100 countries.

Having said that, these products from Yeelight are priced on the higher side than what we expected. To give a brief idea of what am speaking, the Yeelight Candela Lamp can be picked up from Chinese retailers such as Banggood and GearBest at a price of around of Rs 3,500. And in India, the same product is priced at Rs 4,999. Of course, the shipping time will be a lot faster and you get Indian warranty too.
