OnePlus has scheduled an ‘Open Ears’ event in India which is to be held on July 7. This event will witness the participation of 30 people from all over the country. This event will be focused on helping the China-based phone maker in understanding how the public perceives its products. This iteration of the ‘Open Ears’ event is going to focus more on ‘Products’ in contrast to the one which was held in San Francisco. The USA event focused more on software part in order to uplift OxygenOS, while the Indian version is going to emphasise more on the hardware of OnePlus devices. The application for the ‘Open Ears’ is now open.
Under this event, the selected participants will be provided free travel and accommodation. The registration link for the ‘Open Ears’ event is live till 11:59 PM, June 12. Participants will start receiving formal invitation details by June 15.
Joel Jacob, India Community Specialist, OnePlus wrote in a post "With Open Ears, we can incorporate a change that comes right from the core community. Because ultimately, your OnePlus device is personal, and we want to give you that experience.” OnePlus clarified that it seeks to bring its core users under one roof in order to collect their valuable reviews and suggestions about OnePlus products.
Even though the event is very near, OnePlus hasn’t really revealed the actual purpose of the Indian edition of Open Ears conference. The venue of the event also remains undisclosed.
The invitation for Open Ears India comes at a very crucial time where OnePlus has recently launched the OnePlus 6 which comes with a price tag of Rs 34,999 and in 6GB RAM and 64GB storage as well as 8GB RAM and 128GB storage options. The company also launched the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition last month with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage at Rs 44,999, however, the last sale of the device happened earlier this week itself.
Pete Lau, founder and CEO of OnePlus said: "Our 'Never Settle' motto means we are always eager to improve ourselves, and our users play a significant role when developing new releases." He further added "Keeping this in mind, we wanted to hear directly from our Indian fans. We do not run after trends or take short-term decisions but want to create a smartphone that is created based on what our user needs. We appreciate the opportunity to speak directly with our users, contributing to the development of new features and products."
Within just a few years since the inception, OnePlus has become one of the most loved brands, not only in India but across the country. Now the entire focus of consumers has shifted towards the OnePlus 6T, which is unknown at the moment, whether it exists or not.
