OnePlus introduced a host of new features in the OxygenOS with the 5T, same as how it did with the 3T. The OnePlus 5T (first impressions) arrived with OxygenOS 4.7, and it brought in some exclusive features. Face Unlock

The OnePlus 5T has a Face Unlock mode, and that’s entirely a software feature. While setting up your 5T for the first time, it asks you to register your face. Trust me; it’s the fastest face unlocking feature I have seen on any smartphone. It works most of the time; sometimes you will be even scared why your smartphone is not locked. It’s accurate too. One downside is that you can register only one Face at a time to unlock the smartphone.

OnePlus also confirmed the Face Unlock feature would make it to the
OnePlus 5 very soon.

Fingerprint Sensor Gestures

For the first time since its inception, OnePlus has used a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Thanks to the 18:9 display on the front, OnePlus was left with no choice, but the rear-mounted scanner. Now, this functionality has allowed the company to add some gestures such as ‘Swipe fingerprint for notifications’ and ‘Long press to take a photo’.

Parallel Apps

Finally, OxygenOS gets the Parallel Apps feature which is one of the long overdue features. With the Parallel Apps, you can create two instances of an application and use them simultaneously. For example, you can create two WhatsApp accounts in the 5T now, and use them parallelly. This feature, for now, is exclusive to the 5T, and other OnePlus devices will get it very soon.
