BSNL introduced a national roaming STV (Special Tariff Voucher) for Rs. 33 back in November for a promotional period of 90 days for its pre-paid customers. It seems like the pre-paid users across the country warmed up to the STV and BSNL has decided to re-introduce the same after listening to its customers. BSNL anyhow has been losing out on market share in the cellular services arena and launching such plans at times helps in retaining customers.

The STV of Rs. 33 has been re-introduced in pan India. It is valid for 7 days. After you recharge your phone with the STV, you can make calls at the rate of 1.5 paisa/second on roaming (Local and STD) and receive calls for free. Since it charges you on per second basis, you tend to save quite a bit in terms of money while roaming.

Just in case you receive calls for more than 20 minutes in a day, you anyhow reap the benefit of spending Rs 33 in that. So using the plan when going out for 2-3 days also makes a lot of sense. All other tariffs will remain the same as per your base plan. The above mention tariff will be implemented w.e.f. 31.01.2015. All the circles have been directed to update the same on their respective website. The STV will now remain a standard one from here on.
