The launch of Reliance Jio has brought in sweeping changes to the telecom sector in India, both in terms of quality of service and pricing structure. With its primary focus being unlimited free calls and SMS, the company has forced the other old guns in the house to pull up their socks.

Idea Cellular

Jio has single-handedly changed how the telecom companies price their data and call services, since its launch in September last year. Over the past few months, the Reliance Jio’s disruptive plans have proven effective in bringing in massive change, with its drastically reduced 4G plan rates and a few select voice call plans even made free.

In the wake of the recent upheaval created by Reliance Jio in the market, its rivals – Airtel, Idea, BSNL, and many others – have pushed back by introducing equally attractive plans to lure in more customers and retain their existing ones, and Idea Cellular is at the top of its game after Reliance Jio. Here are the tariff plans introduced by Idea Cellular in recent times.

Rs. 357 Plan, Rs. 697, and Rs. 897 Plans

Idea Cellular has launched a slew of tariff plans for its users in Himachal Pradesh circle. All the three plans offer unlimited voice calls, including unlimited outgoing roaming calls as well. The Rs. 357 plan gives 1GB data per day, and is valid for 28 days, while the Rs. 697 and Rs. 897 plan provides 1.5GB data and 2GB data per day for 84 days. Apart from the Rs. 357 and Rs. 697 plan, the Rs. 897 plan offers 100 SMS per day for 84 days.

Rs. 1197 High-Data Volume Plan

Same as the Rs. 357 and other tariff plans, this new Rs. 1197 is also valid for HP users and offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and 2.5GB data per day for 84 days.

Rs. 447 Plan

This plan from Idea Cellular is aimed at Airtel Rs. 399 and Reliance Jio’s Rs. 309 plan. It offers 1GB data per day along with unlimited calling for ten weeks (70 days). This plan offers just 3000 minutes of voice calling.

Rs. 297 Plan

Along with the Rs. 447 plan, Idea also unveiled a Rs. 297 pack, which offers unlimited Idea to Idea calls, along with 1GB data per day for 70 days. This plan comes with voice call limitation of 300 minutes per day and 1200 minutes per week.

FRC Plans for New Prepaid Customers

Idea Cellular is also offering attractive plans for the new prepaid customers who are yet to do their first recharge. The company has a Rs. 399 plan (price varies with the circle) which offers 1GB data per day and unlimited voice calls for 84 days, which seems to be attractive as well.

Note: These plans may not be available for all circles, and if available, the prices of every plan will differ with the circle. Check in the  My Idea app or contact the Idea customer support before proceeding.
