Telecom firms served notice for under-reporting revenues to the order of Rs.10,826 crores

Government has served a show cause notice to various telecom firms for allegedly under-reporting revenues of over Rs.10,800 crore till November 2012.

"We have served notice for claims of Rs.10,826.69 crore to different telecom companies for under-reporting revenues till November 2012," said Jaitley during the Question Hour in Lok Sabha.

He said most of the companies have approached the Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal and various courts against the government notice and the tribunal and courts gave stay orders.

The Department of Telecom (DoT) also registered many cases of under-reporting of revenues.
