This is an OTA (over-the-air) update and will be rolled out in a phase-wise manner depending on the region and service provider. It was in the starting of this month when Sony rolled out Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Xperia Z series and Xperia T2 Ultra.

Here is the change-log for the Android 5.1 Lollipop:

  • Enhanced UI with Lollipop’s Material Design
  • More personalization options
  • LinkedIn integration — users can add LinkedIn information, schedules to Calendar
  • SmartWear Integration — SmartWatch 3 can be used as a remote shutter button
