Xiaomi already launched multiple new products and it seems like a new product launch from the company is not too far away. The Xiaomi Redmi S2, which already passed TENAA certification has now been spotted in high-resolution images, hinting at an imminent launch. The Redmi S2 also received 3C certification in China, which means that the device's launch is just around the corner. The leaked images suggest that the Redmi S2 will feature similar design language as the recently launched Mi 6X smartphone. These images were achieved by a Czech Republic publication, claiming that the device was displayed at an offline store of Xiaomi. But the launch date of the smartphone was not revealed by the publication.

SvetAndroida, the Czech Republic publication obtained these images. Going by the pictures, the Redmi S2 will resemble the Mi 6X a lot and it' sad to see Xiaomi going for the same design language for its smartphones. The Mi 6X has a close resemblance to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, minus the antenna bands on top. And now, the Redmi S2 is a lookalike the Mi 6X including the antenna bands on top. The Rose Gold colour variant of the Redmi S2 was pictured by the publication, and as you can see, the antenna bands are clearly visible on the top and bottom. The vertical camera module placement is also similar to what we have seen in the Note 5 Pro and 6X. The fingerprint sensor is also mounted at the back.

However, we're assuming that the Redmi S2 could feature polycarbonate body instead of the metal body. And the specifications were also listed by the publication. The Redmi S2 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC and runs MIUI 9.5 based on Android Oreo out of the box. The phone is claimed to sport a 5.99-inch HD+ with a resolution of 720x1440 pixels.

The highlight of the Redmi S2 will be the dual rear cameras. The phone will reportedly rock a 12MP primary sensor at the back, and a 5MP secondary depth will work in tandem with the primary sensor. There might be a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. This entire package is rumoured to be backed by a 3080mAh battery.

These images did not reveal the presence of 3.5mm headphone jack, but the device will have a micro USB port instead of the Type-C port seen on the Mi 6X. Mostly, Xiaomi will add the 3.5mm headphone jack as the budget and entry-level smartphone buyers still love to see the traditional jack on their devices.

So that's the Redmi S2' complete specifications and images. Xiaomi is expected to unveil it very soon alongside the Mi Band 3. But we don't have a confirmed launch date though. That said, the smartphone will be coming to India as per an earlier report. As usual, the Redmi S2 will be offered in different variants- a 2GB RAM+16GB storage option, 3GB RAM+32GB storage version and lastly, the 4GB RAM+64GB storage option.
