Xiaomi will launch the much-anticipated Redmi Note 5 budget smartphone sometime in Q2 2018, but leaks about the smartphone continue to pour in. A new render of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is now making headlines on the web, and it's so good to be a true smartphone. As you can see in the image, this Redmi Note 5 sports thin bezels on the front, followed by an entirely new rear design.
The Redmi Note 5 leaked in the past had a similar design as the Redmi Note 4, but this render shows off an entirely new design. The top bezel houses the rear camera, sensors, and primary microphone, while the chin doesn't feature anything. Xiaomi has gone with on-screen navigation keys on its earlier 18:9 display smartphones- the Mi Mix 2 and Redmi 5 Plus. So expect the Redmi Note 5 to feature on-screen keys itself.
At the back of the phone, we have a dual camera setup housed in a separate module. Below the rear camera module, we have a fingerprint scanner, which is placed in the same position as the previous two Redmi Note smartphones.
On one side, this leak looks extremely good, and it will be great if Xiaomi manages to come out with the same design. And on another side, this device doesn't seem to be of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Instead, it may be of the Xiaomi Mi 7 or a completely different upcoming Xiaomi smartphone. The Xiaomi Mi 7 is expected to sport a glass back, so there are fewer chances of this render belonging to the Mi 7.
The Redmi Note 5 is recently rumoured to come out in Q2 2018 as Xiaomi is waiting for Qualcomm to announce the Snapdragon 632 SoC, which will be housed on the Note 5. A 5.99-inch Full HD+ display may be present on the front of the phone, followed by dual rear cameras and a single selfie camera.
It's been one and a half year since Xiaomi launched a new Redmi Note smartphone, but hopefully, the company makes justice to this long wait. If the Redmi Note 5 comes out with a similar design as the smartphone in today's leaked render, it will kill all the budget smartphones available on the market today.
