Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone in India today. The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes as a successor to India's best-selling dual camera smartphone- the Redmi Note 5 Pro. So expectations are sky high on this handset, but Xiaomi did not make changes to the internal hardware as the phone is already available in a couple of markets. Furthermore, the Note 6 Pro's hardware is pretty much similar to that of the Redmi Note 5 Pro including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, 4GB/6GB of RAM and 4000mAh battery. Alongside the Note 6 Pro, Xiaomi might launch the Mi Router 4C in the sub-continent as a successor to the popular Mi Router 3C.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: India Launch Details

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is expected to launch in two variants in India- 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM. Both the models will have 64GB of internal storage like the Note 5 Pro. The phone will be launched at 12:30 PM and Xiaomi will be live streaming the event across its social media handles. So keep an eye if you want to watch the event live.

The price of the handset is expected to be the same as Redmi Note 5 Pro. After the recent price cut, the Note 5 Pro's 4GB RAM variant is retailing for Rs 13,999 in the country and the 6GB RAM model can be purchased for Rs 15,999. It will be interesting to see if Xiaomi launches the Note 6 Pro at the same starting price. If not, the Note 6 Pro could be launched at a starting price of Rs 14,999 for the base model.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: Specifications and Features

As noted, the Redmi Note 6 Pro features identical hardware as the Note 5 Pro, but there are some noticeable changes. The major change is the presence of the notch on top of the display which also houses dual cameras. That said, it's the first Xiaomi phone to launch with four cameras in India. The Note 6 Pro has a slightly larger 6.26-inch Full HD+ display on the front which carries a resolution of 1080x2280 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. Underneath, the phone has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, clubbed with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Users can expand storage on the handset with the help of hybrid microSD card slot.

The smartphone rocks dual cameras of 20MP+2MP on the front, along with two cameras of 12MP+5MP on the rear side. Notably, the rear cameras on the Note 6 Pro are similar to the ones we saw on the Note 5 AI that was launched in China earlier this year. The Note 6 Pro will boot MIUI 10 out of the box and it will be the first smartphone to do so. Lastly, Xiaomi has retained the 4000mAh battery we saw on the Note 5 Pro.
