Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Leaks Out With Snapdragon 425 SoC and 2GB of RAM

Xiaomi did not split a single word on when they’re going to launch the next generation Redmi Note smartphones. Supposedly, Xiaomi will unveil the Redmi Note 5 by the end of August, but there’s not much news about it as well. And now, a new Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A render has surfaced online, courtesy of Slashleaks. The leak also revealed the purported specifications of the device. As you can see in the image above, the Redmi Note 5A sports similar design as the Xiaomi Redmi 4 lineup and the absence of fingerprint sensor is a debatable question here.

The render clearly shows unibody metal design, same as the Redmi Note 4 lineup. Internally, the Redmi Note 5A will feature a 5-inch HD display, carrying a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. At the heart of the phone will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset, paired with just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The device is said to boot Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and will have a 3080mAh battery, backing it. Optics wise, the Note 5A will feature a 13MP camera on the back, paired with a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

As the name itself suggests, the Redmi Note 5A will succeed the Redmi 4A. The device is said to have a dimension of 153 x 76.2 x 7.59 mm, and it weighs around 150grams. The pricing of the smartphone is said to be Yuan 999, in-line with Xiaomi’s pricing strategy.
