Last year, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi 6 series of smartphones in India. In September, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer debuted the Redmi 6 Pro which at the time booted the Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.6. However, as other Xiaomi devices were upgraded to the Android 9 Pie based MIUI 10, the Redmi 6 Pro users also demanded that the phone be upgraded to latest OS too. Now in its latest step, Xiaomi has fulfilled on its promise and has started seeding the Android 9 Pie update for the Redmi 6 Pro users. This new update brings new features and design changes to the phone.

MIUI 10 Update for the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro

On Thursday, Xiaomi India Managing Director and Global VP, Manu Kumar Jain on his Twitter said, "Mi fans! #Redmi6Pro now comes with the goodness of pie, @Android 9.0 Pie! Update to the latest version now & experience the finest of MIUI + #Android." Like it is the case with every major update, it is expected that there will be lots of new features, changes to the UI and some features which the Android 9 Pie will bring on board the Redmi 6 Pro. Here are all the details that should know about the new Android 9 Pie based MIUI 10 update for the Redmi 6 Pro.

MIUI 10 Stable ROM V10.3.2.0.PDMMIXM for Redmi 6 Pro Details

The new update with version number MIUI 10 Stable ROM V10.3.2.0.PDMMIXM also patches some bugs including the sync page which wasn't able to refresh whenever sync was turned on or off in the Notification shade. Also, the incorrect notification badges on the WhatsApp icon, status bar shortcut and floating notification for calls appeared at the same time, and ending calls took longer time than expected. The new update for Redmi 6 Pro also patches issues like no low battery warning in landscape mode, and no LED blinking in low battery. Lastly, this update also brings the May 2019 Android Security Patch to the device. There is also a brand new redesigned Mi Cloud start page.

How to Check for and Install Updates

Similar to the other update rollouts in the past, this rollout of the Android 9 Pie based MIUI 10 for Redmi 6 Pro will happen in a phased manner too. This means that all users of Redmi 6 Pro might not get the update right now, so you might need to wait. In case that is not an option for you, then there is also the option of flashing the updated ROM to your device. Alternatively, you can head to the Settings menu, go to Software update option, and check for updates whether there are any new ones or not. Make sure that your phone is enough charged, connected to the Wi-Fi, and all your data is backed up before updating the device.

Back in his engineering days, he used to play with smartphones by installing custom ROMs and that passion got him into the tech industry. He still goes nuts about a smartphone knocking his door for review. Currently managing everything at Telecom Talk, Chakri is trying to master PUBG Mobile in his free time.
