Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Starts Receiving MIUI 10 Stable Update Based on Android 8.1 Oreo in India

After launching the Redmi Note 6 Pro in other markets, Xiaomi is all geared up to bring the phone to India as well. The Redmi Note 6 Pro is set to launch in India on November 22. In Thailand and Indonesia, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 6 Pro with MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, but in India, the phone is expected to come with MIUI 10 out-of-the-box. New reports now claim that the Redmi 6 Pro India models until now where on the MIUI 9.6 but are now getting updated to the MIUI 10. It is no hidden fact that Xiaomi has been rolling out the MIUI 10 to a range of phones in batches.

The first batch of devices that got the upgraded to the MIUI 10 include -- Mi MIX 2, Mi 8 SE, Mi MIX, Xiaomi Mi 6X, Mi 5, Mi Note 2, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi S2 or Redmi Y2. While the second batch of Xiaomi phones to get the MIUI 10 update includes 21 phones -- Mi Max standard version, Mi Max Pro, Mi Max 2, Mi 4S, Mi 4C, Mi 4, Mi 5S Plus, Mi 5S, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi 4 high version, Redmi 4X, Redmi 4, Redmi Note 5A, Redmi Note 4 MTK version, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 3 4G, Redmi Pro, Redmi Note 4X Qualcomm version, and Redmi 4 top end version. Redmi 6 Pro Getting MIUI 10 Stable Update in India

The Redmi 6 Pro was launched with running on MIUI 9.6 on top of Android Oreo. But at the launch event, Xiaomi did announce the phone to get upgraded to MIUI 10 very soon. Xiaomi is living up to its words. Users on Reddit claim that Xiaomi has started rolling out the stable MIUI 10 build to the Redmi 6 Pro. The report claims that the OTA has already started rolling out to the Redmi 6 Pro devices in India with a model number MI805DISI.

In addition to the MIUI 10, the software also comes along with the November security patch. Xiaomi has always been very committed to delivering the best software experience to its users, and with Redmi 6 Pro, the company is aiming the same.

How to Install MIUI 10 on Redmi 6 Pro

To download and install MIUI 10 on your Redmi 6 Pro, you’ll first need to head to the Setting menu and then to the Software update section to check if there’s any pending update available. If the update is available, first you should ensure to create a backup of all your data on the phone and second connect the device to a Wi-Fi network before installing the update.

After the MIUI 10 is updated, the Redmi 6 Pro will get all the features that the software comes with. The features that Xiaomi’s latest custom UI comes with include -- App Vault – Icon Bar, MIUI Calendar, Hidden Apps, and more. The MIUI 10 also comes with new navigation gestures, Picture-in-picture, Autofill support, security improvements, improved screen recording and more. The Redmi 6 Pro is the only Redmi smartphone with a notched display, but it will be soon joined by Redmi Note 6 Pro.
