It' sad that to see that Xiaomi is not bringing the base 2GB variant to the offline market, but it's expected because of the massive demand. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is an affordably priced smartphone from Xiaomi priced at just Rs 4,999. Until now, the smartphone was available on Flipkart, Mi.com, and Xiaomi Mi Homes. On Flipkart and Mi.com, Xiaomi is selling the Redmi 5A in flash sales, and in all flash sales, the device went out of stock in seconds.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A flaunts a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, which further translates to a pixel density of 296 PPI. The device sports polycarbonate body and weighs 137grams. The Redmi 5A runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat based MIUI 9 out of the box.

At the heart of the phone, the Redmi 5A has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM, and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. The device also has a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB.

Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, and micro USB port for data transfer and charger. The phone also comes with an IR blaster on the top, which allows you to control devices such as TV, AC, etc. remotely.
